Tubi's Sorority Slasher 'Buzzkill' Sets September Premiere with Siena Agudong
Tubi has set a 25 September premiere for Buzzkill, a young-adult horror-comedy that traps a group of sorority sisters in a house with a murderer, the free streaming service announced through an exclusive with The Hollywood Reporter (THR, 24 August 2026).
Siena Agudong leads the cast as Nora, a party girl whose tipsy memories hold the clues to identifying the killer — the catch being she can only recover them when she has been drinking. Brec Bassinger and musical artist Aliyah's Interlude co-star. A Tubi corporate press item also lists Noah Beck among the cast, though the more recent Hollywood Reporter exclusive does not mention him by name (Tubi corporate press, date unknown).
Jem Garrard directed from a script by Suzanne Keilly. Blue Ice Pictures produced, with Ryan Plachcinski, Haley Wiseman, Adam Friedlander, and Tebogo Maila as producers; Agudong, Garrard, Keilly, and Lance Samuels serve as executive producers.
Tubi — the ad-supported streaming service owned by Fox Corporation — has been building a slate of original genre films under its "Terror on Tubi" banner, positioning the platform as a year-round destination for horror. The service first announced Buzzkill's casting on 9 January 2026, when the film was still in production (The Futon Critic, 9 January 2026).
The premise leans into a well-worn slasher tradition — a confined space, a masked threat, a group picked off one by one — but centres the comedy on Nora's drink-fuelled detective work. It is a tonal balancing act the genre has attempted before, and the execution will come down to how Garrard and Keilly manage the swing between laughs and genuine tension.
For Agudong, the role continues a steady climb through young-adult fare; she is best known to streaming audiences from Netflix's Resident Evil series and Disney Channel's No Good Nick. Bassinger led the DC series Stargirl across three seasons. Aliyah's Interlude, a rapper and social-media personality, crosses into feature acting with the project.
The Hollywood Reporter's exclusive also published first-look images from the film, giving audiences an early glimpse of the sorority-house setting ahead of the late-September debut.
