Tubi sets 9 October premiere for R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead 2

Tubi has locked its next Halloween scare. R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead 2 will premiere on Tubi on Oct. 9, with the first full trailer unveiled exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter on Sept. 22.
The film is part of Terror on Tubi, the streamer's seasonal slate of horror titles for October. Tubi, a free ad-supported streaming service, will carry the premiere exclusively, according to iHorror.
Jem Garrard directed the sequel and wrote the script, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Garrard also directed the franchise's 2025 instalment that came before Pumpkinhead 2. The new film draws inspiration from Stine's The Haunting Hour, his long-running horror series for young readers.
The story follows a new group of young characters. Bean Reid plays Sam, Adeline Lo plays Becka, and Seth Isaac Johnson plays Finn, Sam's brother. Bob Frazer plays the town sheriff.
Horror fans get a familiar face. Cassandra Peterson, best known as horror host Elvira, portrays a character called Cassandra. The role is described as a mysterious witch, according to iHorror. The wider cast also includes Matty Finochio, Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez and Kendra Anderson.
For viewers, this means a straight-to-streaming Halloween option. No cinema ticket is needed. Just open the app on Oct. 9.
Behind the camera, the film was produced by Front Street Pictures. Executive producers are James Mattagne, Joan Waricha, Harvey Kahn, Yvonne Bernard, Dan Bernard, Jem Garrard, Allen Lewis and Rama Diallo.
