Jim James shares 'Lost Child' ahead of fifth solo album 'Wowed Out', arriving Friday

Jim James has released a new solo song, 'Lost Child', ahead of his album 'Wowed Out', which arrives on Friday, August 28th (Rolling Stone).

'Wowed Out' is James's fifth solo album and his first in eight years. The record runs eight tracks — Baby Dear, Hands On, Come Again, Lost Child, Home (Green), We Love Our Life, Wowed Out, and Whole Heart (Into It) — though Apple Music and Spotify both list the release with ten songs, suggesting additional or bonus cuts on the streaming editions (Apple Music; Spotify).

'Lost Child' was one of the first songs James wrote for the project, and it pulls from a deep well of pop history. The track samples the beat and piano from Maxine Brown's 'Oh No Not My Baby', a song co-written by Carole King in 1964.
