Snoop Dogg Becomes a Hitman Elusive Target — One Shot, One Month, No Second Chances

Snoop Dogg is stepping into Hitman: World of Assassination as a target players can eliminate — but only once. Developer IO Interactive announced that the rapper will appear as Dr Crysu Cane, the next Elusive Target in the stealth-action game, available from August 27 until September 26. VideoGamesChronicle

The mission, titled The Herbalist, gives players a single window of about one month to track down and take out Snoop's character. After September 26, the target disappears for good.

For anyone unfamiliar with the format: Elusive Targets are temporary missions unique to the Hitman franchise, where famous faces appear in-game as marks for the series' protagonist, Agent 47, to assassinate. The twist is that each Elusive Target can only be attempted once. Fail the mission — whether the target escapes, Agent 47 dies, or the timer runs out — and access to that contract is gone permanently. There are no retries.

That one-and-done structure is what gives these missions their tension. Players who want the Snoop Dogg contract face a simple but punishing bargain: study the environment, plan an approach, and execute it cleanly the first time, or walk away empty-handed.

Snoop Dogg is the latest real-world celebrity to be cast as an Elusive Target, joining a tradition that has previously brought well-known figures into the Hitman universe as time-limited marks. The casting fits the franchise's playful approach to its guest targets — characters who exist in the game world for a fixed period, then vanish.

The Herbalist launches in Hitman: World of Assassination on August 27. Players have until September 26 to complete it, with no option for a second attempt once the mission begins.
