Dominic West and Sienna Miller Lead 'War,' a Legal Drama With a Two-Season Commitment From HBO and Sky
Dominic West and Sienna Miller will star in War, an eight-part legal drama from Hijack and Lupin creator George Kay, premiering Friday, 4 October on Sky Atlantic — and HBO and Sky have already committed to two seasons before a single episode has aired (The Hollywood Reporter; Esquire UK).
A two-season commitment — meaning both series were ordered together, with no pilot or first-season ratings review sitting between them — is rare in television. It gives the writers' room and production team certainty that the story continues past season one.
The series is set in the elite world of London law. West plays Morgan Henderson, a tech billionaire, and Miller plays his estranged wife Carla Duval, an international film star. Two rival law firms sit at the centre of the drama. Cathcarts is led by partners played by Nina Sosanya and Pip Torrens. Kay's track record gives the project immediate weight. Lupin, the French heist drama he co-created, became one of Netflix's most-watched non-English-language series. For viewers, the two-season order means the story has room to breathe.
