Geralt of Rivia Crosses Into Diablo 4 as The Witcher 3 Remastered Heads to Battle.net
Geralt of Rivia is coming to Diablo 4. CD Projekt Red and Blizzard Entertainment have collaborated to bring the Witcher's signature white-haired look to Blizzard's action role-playing game as a themed skin, tying the crossover to the upcoming launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered on Battle.net (VGC).
The remastered Witcher 3 arrives on September 29 as a free update for anyone who already owns the game. It will also be available to buy on PC through Battle.net — Blizzard's storefront and game launcher — for the first time (IGN). September 29 is the same date the remaster launches across all other platforms.
Buying the remaster on Battle.net unlocks the Geralt-themed skin in Diablo 4. The skin will also be available to anyone who pre-purchases Songs of the Past — the upcoming paid expansion for The Witcher 3 — on Battle.net, and to anyone who buys the expansion when it launches fully next year (VGC).
Songs of the Past is a paid expansion due in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 (CD Projekt Red press release). It will also be available on Battle.net, where it will sit alongside the remastered base game (CD Projekt Red blog).
The remastered Witcher 3 was announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 on August 25. Amelia Korzycka, community and social media manager at CD Projekt, confirmed the free-upgrade structure for existing owners alongside the reveal (VGC).
For fans, the crossover means a Witcher character can now stand alongside the demon-slaying classes of Diablo 4 — two fantasy universes meeting inside one game. For CD Projekt Red, it puts The Witcher 3 on a second major PC storefront and gives players a fresh reason to revisit a game that originally launched in 2015. For Blizzard, it adds a recognisable guest character to Diablo 4's cosmetic offerings, a common play in live-service games — titles sold and updated in seasons after launch.
No price has been announced for the Battle.net version of the remaster, and no release date beyond "2027" has been given for Songs of the Past. The Geralt skin's availability is tied to purchases, not a limited-time window: anyone who qualifies through either route — buying the remaster on Battle.net, pre-purchasing the expansion, or buying the expansion at launch — gains access.
