Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins and Andy Garcia Line Up for 'Maserati: The Brothers' as Trailer Arrives
A trailer for Maserati: The Brothers has arrived, and the cast list reads like a casting director's wishlist: Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Jessica Alba and Andy Garcia all feature in the motorsport biopic about the family behind the Italian car marque (The Hollywood Reporter, 26 August 2026).
The film traces the story of the Maserati brothers — Alfieri (Michele Morrone), Bindo (Salvatore Esposito) and Carlo (Lorenzo De Moor) — and their push to become the first Italian carmaker to win the Indianapolis 500. The Maserati brand would go on to win that race in 1939 and 1940. Robert Moresco directed from a script by Amanda Moresco and Stefano Torrisi. The Andrea Iervolino Company produced, making this its third biopic about an Italian automotive legend — following earlier entries on Lamborghini and Ferrari. Production began in November 2024 at Rome's Cinecittà Studios, one of Europe's largest film-production complexes (Deadline, 7 November 2024). Shooting also took place on location in Modena, the northern Italian city the Maserati family called home. Moresco is no stranger to the Italian-garage genre. He directed the 2022 feature Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, with Frank Grillo as Ferruccio Lamborghini. Michael Mann's Ferrari, starring Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari, followed in 2024. The strip of northern Italy running from Modena to Bologna produced Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Ducati within a few decades of each other — a cluster of founding families whose rivalries and breakthroughs have now generated at least three feature films.
Maserati: The Brothers is scheduled for worldwide release in autumn 2026, heading to cinemas rather than a streaming platform (The Guardian, 1 February 2026; Instagram announcement, 26 August 2025).
For audiences, the trailer offers a first proper look at how that ensemble — two Oscar winners and a roster of international co-stars — settles into a mid-century Italian setting.
