The Wolf Among Us Remastered Gets October 29 Release Date and New Noir Mode
The Wolf Among Us Remastered will launch on October 29, 2026, bringing the 2013 narrative adventure back to modern consoles and PC with a freshly revealed Noir Mode in tow.
Publisher Telltale and developer PM Studios confirmed the date alongside a release-date trailer released in August 2026. The trailer introduced Noir Mode, a visual filter designed to evoke classic-era detective films — think black-and-white shadows, hard contrasts and a moody atmosphere layered over the game's existing art direction.
The remaster was first announced in June 2026 at Summer Game Fest. At the time, Telltale described it as a return to the story of Bigby Wolf — the reformed fairy-tale figure working as a sheriff in a hidden community of fable characters living in New York — and a chance for players who missed the original to experience it with updated visuals and performance.
The October launch covers a wide platform footprint. The game will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, Xbox One, and both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, according to reporting from VGC, Gematsu and Nintendo Everything.
That original release, split into five episodic chapters across 2013 and 2014, was developed by the original Telltale Games studio before its closure in 2018. The current Telltale — restructured under new ownership — has been shepherding the franchise forward, including the long-awaited sequel. Telltale assured players in 2024 that The Wolf Among Us 2 had not been cancelled, though no release window has been set for it.
For fans, the remaster serves a dual purpose: a touch-up for returning players and an accessible entry point for newcomers ahead of whatever comes next for the series. The addition of Noir Mode gives that return a distinct visual identity rather than a straightforward resolution bump — a small but meaningful choice for a game whose comic-book art style was always central to its appeal.
The October 29 date puts The Wolf Among Us Remastered squarely in the autumn release corridor, a window publishers favour for high-visibility titles heading into the holiday shopping period.
