Sasha Calle Joins Jamie Foxx in Amazon MGM Action Film 'Deadlocked'
Sasha Calle is set for a major role opposite Jamie Foxx in 'Deadlocked', an action film from Amazon MGM Studios made for streaming, Deadline reported on 27 August 2026.
Nikhil Bhat directs the film, written by Eric Scot Anderson and Matt Takejiro Bosack from their own original idea. The story follows a grieving former Marine serving jury duty who is pulled back into action when the trial of the century turns into a deadly hostage situation — the defendant's daughter seizes the courthouse to free her father.
Foxx's involvement was announced earlier in August, also by Deadline. He produces alongside Fred Berger for Range, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan for C2, and Foxx himself through his Foxxhole Productions banner. Executive producers are AJ Bourscheid, Liz Destro, Paul Currie, and Corinne Foxx.
For Calle, the role adds another credit to a fast-rising résumé. She made her feature film debut as Supergirl in Warner Bros.' 'The Flash', becoming the first Latina actress to portray the superhero in a major studio film. She then starred opposite Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in 'The Rip', a Joe Carnahan crime thriller for Netflix released in January 2026 that held a spot in the Netflix global top 10 film list for six weeks.
Her other credits include Daniel Minahan's 'On Swift Horses' and Alessandra Lacorazza Samudio's 'In the Summers', which won both the Grand Jury Prize and the Directing Award for U.S. Dramatic Film at its 2024 Sundance premiere. She won a Daytime Emmy for her work on 'The Young and the Restless'.
Calle currently stars opposite Colin Farrell in the second season of Apple TV+'s neo-noir series 'Sugar'. She will next appear opposite Scarlett Johansson in Mike Flanagan's take on 'The Exorcist' for Universal, scheduled to reach theatres on 12 March 2027.
Calle is represented by CAA, Luber Roklin, and Del Shaw Moonves. A release date for 'Deadlocked' has not yet been announced.
