Marko Zaror and Tyrik Johnson Join Jamie Foxx in Deadlocked

Marko Zaror and Tyrik Johnson have joined Jamie Foxx in Deadlocked, a new action film from Amazon MGM Studios, Deadline reported.
Foxx leads the cast. Sasha Calle is also on board. So are KiKi Layne and Luke Hemsworth. What Zaror and Johnson will play has not been revealed, with their character details kept under wraps.
The story centres on a grieving former Marine. He is not on a mission. He is on jury duty. Jury duty, in the United States, requires ordinary citizens to weigh evidence and reach a verdict. That civic task turns violent when a trial becomes a deadly hostage situation. The defendant's daughter seizes the courthouse to free her father, and the former Marine is forced back into action.
For viewers, the hook is location. The set-up keeps the action in one place. A courthouse. A jury room. A trial stopped mid-course. It is a siege story built around people trapped together, rather than a chase across cities.
Nikhil Bhat directs the film. The script comes from Eric Scot Anderson and Matt Takejiro Bosack. They wrote it from an original idea, which means they originated the story as well as the dialogue and structure.
Deadlocked is being made for Prime Video. It is a streaming release, intended to land on the subscription service rather than begin with a full run in cinemas.
Behind the camera, the producing team brings together several companies. Fred Berger is producing for Range. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones is producing. Dave Caplan is producing for C2. Foxx is also producing for his own Foxxhole Productions, according to Deadline.
Producers handle the practical build of a film. They attach key talent. They approve the budget. They carry the project from script to finished picture. Each credit represents a production banner involved in mounting the film.
AJ Bourscheid, Liz Destro, Paul Currie and Corinne Foxx serve as executive producers. That is a senior credit, often tied to securing finance or guiding the production at a step removed from day-to-day shooting.
The latest additions fill out the cast around the central courthouse siege. No character names have been made public. The focus for now stays on the premise: one juror with a military past caught in a siege he did not seek.
