Robert De Niro and Adam Scott Star in Netflix's The Whisper Man, Arriving August 28

Netflix has released its film adaptation of Alex North's bestselling novel The Whisper Man, with Robert De Niro leading the cast as a retired detective pulled back into a case he thought he had closed. The film arrived on the streaming service on August 28, 2026 (Netflix Tudum).

De Niro plays Peter Willis, the former detective who once put serial killer Francis "Frank" Carter behind bars for life. Carter operated in the small town of Featherbank, luring young children by whispering to them and sending recordings of the kidnappings to police.
