The promo was exclusively unveiled by PEOPLE on 27 August and subsequently posted on the show's official X account, @TheView. The teaser also promises that viewers "would be surprised" by who appears during the season's premiere week, according to Deadline.
The View, a daytime talk show created by the late Barbara Walters, has been a fixture of American morning television since 1997. The show's 29th season premiered on 8 September 2025, also with all six current hosts, meaning the panel lineup has now held steady for two consecutive seasons. Until the new season launches, the show is on hiatus, airing reruns through the week of 8 September, as PEOPLE reported in late July.
For the first time, The View's 30th season will stream on both Disney+ and Hulu in addition to its linear broadcast on ABC, per Yahoo Entertainment. That widens the audience for a programme that has traditionally lived solely on broadcast and next-day streaming.
The season arrives amid an unusual regulatory backdrop. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched an investigation into whether The View is subject to the agency's equal time rule — a regulation that, in principle, requires broadcasters to offer comparable airtime to opposing political candidates. The FCC has also called for an early review of ABC's broadcast licenses, as Deadline reported. In response, ABC filed a First Amendment lawsuit against the FCC. The regulatory scrutiny has not stopped speculation about who might join the panel as a guest or contributor. Karoline Leavitt, who exited as Trump's White House press secretary, was named as a rumoured option to appear on the show, per Deadline. Former The View panellist Rosie O'Donnell also commented publicly on the possibility of returning to the programme.
For a show built on the premise of women with different viewpoints arguing live on television, a 30th season landing in the middle of a First Amendment dispute with the government is fitting territory.
