Jen Shah Completes Federal Prison Sentence: Former Real Housewives Star Speaks Out

Former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah has completed serving her federal prison sentence, she announced in an exclusive statement to The Hollywood Reporter on 28 August 2026.
Shah, 48, of Park City, Utah, was released from prison in December 2025 and transferred to home confinement — a supervised release programme that lets an inmate serve the remainder of their sentence at home rather than behind bars. The Federal Bureau of Prisons had projected a full release date of 30 August 2026, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Alongside her release, Shah and her husband Sharrieff "Coach" Shah celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The path to this point began in March 2021, when Shah was indicted on two charges: conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Her indictment described a wide-ranging telemarketing scheme that defrauded hundreds of victims, many of them over the age of 55. In July 2022, she pleaded guilty in Manhattan federal court to a single count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, dropping the money laundering charge as part of her plea. She was sentenced on 6 January 2023 to six-and-a-half years in prison, per Reuters.
Her sentence was shortened several times, most notably in November 2025, which moved her release date to 10 December. She was then moved from prison to a community programme to serve the remainder of her sentence, as ABC7 News reported at the time. In total, Shah served almost three years of her original six-and-a-half-year sentence.
For television audiences, Shah's legal saga played out against the backdrop of her reality TV fame. She had been a cast member of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, part of the long-running Bravo franchise that follows the personal lives of affluent women in a given city. Her arrest was captured during filming of the show's second season, and her subsequent guilty plea and sentencing became a running thread across multiple seasons.
Whether Shah returns to television in any capacity remains unconfirmed. No network or streaming platform has announced a project involving her since her release.
