The original UK cast recording of 13 Going On 30: The Musical will be released on Friday 4 September 2026 via Decca Records, capturing the company that premiered the show at Manchester Opera House in September 2025 (WhatsOnStage).

The album features the original Manchester cast, led by Lucie Jones as Jenna Rink and David Hunter as Matt Flamhaff. Grace Mouat plays Lucy Wyman, Caleb Roberts plays Richard, Andrew Berlin plays Kyle, Amelia Minto plays Young Jenna and Max Bisphom plays Young Matt. The recording is produced by Alan Williams, Michael Weiner and Alan Zachary, with mixing by Joe Rubel, engineering by Luke Farnell and mastering by Lewis Hopkin.

The musical is based on the 2004 film starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, in which a teenager wakes up overnight in the body of her 30-year-old self. The stage adaptation has a book by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa — the screenwriters of the original film — with music and lyrics by Michael Weiner and Alan Zachary. It is produced by ROYO, Revolution Studios, Wendy Federman and Phil Kenny.

The production won a WhatsOnStage Award, voted by theatregoers, and its official Instagram account lists further recognition for Jones as Best Performer in a Musical, Mouat as Best Supporting Performer in a Musical, and the show's choreography in the same awards cycle. The show's social-media accounts, under the handle @1330musical on both X and Instagram, describe it as "a totally grown up new musical comedy based on the hit 2004 film."

The cast recording arrives as the musical prepares to make its North American premiere as part of the Mirvish 2026/27 season in Toronto, one of Canada's principal commercial theatre presenters. The show's world premiere run in Manchester ran at the Opera House, a 1,920-seat venue operated by ATG.

For fans of the film and of the Manchester run alike, the Decca release means the score will be available to stream and own from 4 September — the first full commercial recording of Weiner and Zachary's songs for the production. The album preserves the performances that earned the show its WhatsOnStage recognition, rather than a revised or recast lineup.

The creative team's decision to record the original Manchester cast follows a familiar pattern for British musical premieres: capture the premiere company on disc before any subsequent production changes the cast list. Whether the Toronto premiere will replicate the Manchester staging or introduce a new company has not been announced.
