Square Enix Unveils $500 Japan-Only Final Fantasy VII Remake Complete Edition
Square Enix has announced a Japan-only Final Fantasy VII Remake series Complete Edition priced at 77,777 yen — roughly US$500 (£380) — and available for pre-order now on the Japanese Square Enix store in limited quantities (VGC, 3 September 2026).
The package bundles all three games in the remake trilogy: Remake, Rebirth, and Revelation, the third and final instalment, which Square Enix confirmed for release on 8 April 2027. Revelation will launch simultaneously on PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Each game gets its own steelbook case, and the set includes acrylic display stands featuring dummy discs — with the Revelation stand carrying an individually printed serial number.
For fans of physical collectables, the Complete Edition goes well beyond the games. It includes the same Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth premium statue found in the Western Collector's Edition, plus extra goods exclusive to this Japanese release: a Polygon Cloud keychain, an art book, a soundtrack selection, a Magic: The Gathering card, digital in-game items, and an expansion pass.
Western players get a different lineup. In North America and Europe, Final Fantasy VII Revelation is available in digital Premium Plus and Premium Editions, as well as a physical Deluxe Edition, with the Western Collector's Edition priced at US$349.99 and including the same Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth statue along with all Deluxe Edition contents and exclusive extras (Square Enix press release, 3 September 2026).
What makes the Japan-only Complete Edition stand out is the gap it fills. The Western Collector's Edition centres on Revelation alone, while the Japanese version bundles the entire trilogy — the first time all three remake games have been packaged together in a single physical set. The serial-numbered Revelation display stand also suggests these are intended as finite collectables rather than open-ended stock.
For anyone outside Japan hoping to grab the Complete Edition, it requires ordering through the Square Enix Japan store, and the limited quantities mean pre-orders may not last long. The trilogy itself, however, reaches all major platforms: Remake and Rebirth are already available across PS5, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2, with Revelation completing the arc on 8 April 2027.
