Cloud is going airborne. A gameplay clip of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, reported by Siliconera, shows him flying over the Midgar area on a pink Chocobo, the large bird-like mount that appears across the Final Fantasy series.

The clip followed a post from the official Final Fantasy VII account on X. Posted at 2:07 PM on 26 October 2026, it said fans could "explore the Midgar region in an entirely new way in Final Fantasy VII Revelation, kweh!"

Revelation is the third part of the Final Fantasy VII remake project, a series of games that rebuilds the original story in chapters. Square Enix describes it as a final battle to decide the fate of the world. Players take to the skies with their companions to stand against Sephiroth, the story's central antagonist.

The earlier games set up that fight. Square Enix's Remake page says the first game covers the story up to the party's escape from Midgar, the city where much of the opening takes place. In Rebirth, Cloud and his comrades leave Midgar and go after Sephiroth, according to Square Enix.

Square Enix has set the launch for 8 April 2027, as listed on the publisher's news page. The date is the first firm marker for the game, and it places Revelation a little under six months after the end of 2026.

For players who have followed Cloud from the city streets to the open road, the new clip offers a different view of the same region. The official post frames Midgar as something to revisit from above, rather than something to leave behind.

Developers often adjust timing as a project nears completion, so the April date is the one Square Enix has given for now.
