Peacock Drops Full Trailer for Crystal Lake, Sets 15 October for All Eight Episodes

Peacock has released the full trailer for Crystal Lake and confirmed all eight episodes will arrive on 15 October. The series is a prequel to Friday the 13th, meaning it tells a story set before the films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Linda Cardellini leads the cast as Pamela Voorhees. She is the central figure of the first season. Callum Vinson plays young Jason Voorhees alongside her. William Catlett plays a local cop caught up in the story.

The season is set in 1971. Peacock describes Pam as a single mother grieving the loss of her son Jason after he drowned, according to Peacock. That loss is the starting point for the series. It places a family story at the centre of a horror series, described as horror by Entertainment Weekly.

Behind the camera, Brad Caleb Kane is creator, writer and showrunner, the role that leads scripts and day-to-day production. The series is produced by A24. Peacock and A24 bill it as an expanded prequel series, a longer television take on the backstory, according to Peacock.

All eight episodes will premiere together on Peacock on 15 October. There is no weekly rollout. The run is organised as a single drop, so viewers can watch straight through from day one or pace it out.
