Matthew McConaughey and Shailene Woodley will present at the 78th Emmy Awards on Monday night.

The ceremony will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay and will air on NBC and Peacock, according to Variety. The line-up adds two well-known film actors to television's biggest night.

Woodley arrives fresh from a win. She took guest actress in a drama series at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on 6 Sept for playing Annie Clay in Hulu's "Paradise". In the comedy guest category, Jamie Lee Curtis was nominated for outstanding guest actress for her role in FX's "The Bear".

The cast of Fox's forthcoming "Baywatch" reboot will also present. Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Stephen Amell, Noah Beck and Brooks Nader star in the new version of the 1989 lifeguard series.

Anniversaries will be part of the night. Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz will appear together for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as the show turns 30. Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith will reunite for "Charlie's Angels" as that series turns 50.

Noah Kahan will perform during the broadcast. He will sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for the In Memoriam section, the part of the show that honours industry members who have died.

For fans, this means a ceremony built around familiar faces. Old favourites share the stage with a new network reboot still to air.
