Piso 21 sign global distribution deal with Interscope Records

Piso 21 have signed a global distribution deal with Interscope Records. The Colombian group will keep releasing music through Tres Sietes, their own label.
The agreement was confirmed on 14 September, according to Billboard. Distribution is the system that delivers music to streaming services and shops around the world. Under this partnership, new Piso 21 recordings will still come out on Tres Sietes.
Tres Sietes is the record label Piso 21 created in collaboration with Sound of Light Entertainment. The label was first announced in March alongside the release of the group’s album TRESCENDER. The deal brings together Interscope Capitol Miami president Nir Seroussi, Sound of Light Entertainment founder Lorenzo Braun and Piso 21 manager Carlos Acosta “Arete”.
The trio are staying independent. Piso 21 were formed in Medellín in 2007 by David Escobar “DIM”, Juan David Huertas “El Profe” and Pablo Mejía “Pablito”. They released their debut self-titled album in 2012 through Star Arsis Entertainment Group.
Their second album, Ubuntu, was released through Warner Music México. That started a longer run with the company. Piso 21 went on to release four LPs through Warner Music México: El Amor en los Tiempos del Perreo in 2021, 777 in 2022, Los Muchachos in 2023 and 2.1 in 2024.
In 2024, the group reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay, the chart that measures plays on Spanish-language pop radio in the United States, with “La Misión” with Wisin. TRESCENDER followed in March as their eighth studio album and their first full album under Tres Sietes, according to Billboard. It includes “Volver” featuring Marc Anthony and Beéle.
For fans, this means continuity with wider reach. The music will still arrive through the group’s own imprint. Interscope will handle getting it to listeners globally.
