Sony Music Latin signs deal with Luis R. Conríquez's K Music

Sony Music Latin has signed an agreement with K Music, the label co-founded by Luis R. Conríquez, Freddy Becerra and Leonardo Soto.
The deal was confirmed on 24 September 2026. It pairs a major-label Latin division with an independent built around Música Mexicana.
The partnership covers artistic development, distribution and support for K Music's current projects, as reported by Billboard. Distribution here means getting recordings onto streaming services and into stores. Sony Music Latin said the alliance forms part of its strategy to keep growing Música Mexicana, the broad term for Mexico's regional styles such as corridos and norteño.
K Music began in 2019 in Riverside, California, under the name Kartel Music. It was launched by Becerra, Soto and Conríquez and now trades as K Music. Its roster includes Conríquez, Joel De La P and Tony Aguirre. Alex Gallardo is president of Sony Music Latin, which will handle the major-label side of the agreement.
Conríquez released his first single, "El Búho," in 2019 under the Kartel Music name, according to his Sony Music Latin artist page. Kartel Music later shortened its name to K Music, the name used on current releases. The change is reflected in newer copyright lines, which credit K Music.
The label has stayed close to its founder since. Its recent output shows a run of collaborations aimed at Spanish-language streaming audiences.
The 2026 track "Aguas" by Conriquez, Netón Vega and Rey Quinto was copyrighted to K Music and distributed and marketed by Sony Music Entertainment US Latin, according to credits posted on K Music's Facebook page. Conríquez also released the album 'Muchacho Alegre', which includes "Medusa" with Tito Double P, as announced by Sony Music Latin. His K Music single "Meneo" was featured in Billboard's Best New Music Latin picks in August 2025.
In practical terms, the structure is simple. K Music continues to sign and develop artists. Sony brings wider distribution and marketing support to those projects.
For fans, this means K Music releases should reach more playlists and shelves with a bigger team behind them. No financial terms were disclosed. The labels have not yet published a release schedule for the strengthened set-up.
