Close the door behind you. That is the order spreading among Wardogs players.

Wardogs is a Battlefield-like mass multiplayer FPS, a first-person shooter built for very large battles, developed by Bulkhead. It was released in a closed beta state in August 2026 and entered early access, a version sold before completion to gather feedback, on 10 September 2026.

The launch has been loud. Wardogs is the number-one trending game according to SteamDB and the fourth-most-played game on Steam, trailing Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2 and PUBG: Battlegrounds. It reached an all-time peak of 428,666 concurrent players, players online at the same time, on 13 September, according to figures reported by GameSpot.

It is also ranked No. 1 on SteamDB's live global top sellers chart, where it is priced at US$39.99, according to SteamDB.

Shut it. That is the complaint on the r/WarDogs subreddit, the community forum where players trade tips.

The row centres on FOBs. A FOB is a base that acts as a central operating hub for fortified defences and construction of weapons and armaments. GameSpot published a guide titled "What Is A FOB In Wardogs And Why Do You Need One?" on 12 September.

Doors and gates at those bases do not close automatically once opened. Only a player and their teammates can open and close them, and only the team that controls a FOB can open the doors near it. Leave one open and enemies can walk straight in.

Redditor novastar17 posted on 12 September asking players to stop leaving doors and gates open at FOBs. Redditor demonmit1 followed on 14 September, asking players to stop building so many gates and to close any gate they open. Redditor xMrStonex posted on 14 September under the title While Servers are down CLOSE THE DAMN DOORS.

What makes this stand out is how practical the fix sounds. Redditor GOpencyprep suggested on 23 August adding upgraded doors and gates that shut by themselves after a few seconds.

The door debate follows a bumpy arrival. Wardogs faced long server queues at launch despite a massive start on Steam, and a hotfix was released targeting its ongoing server issues, as reported by GameSpot. The Early Access release is described on Steam as a fully playable FPS put out early to gather feedback and iterate alongside the community. A separate Early Access Supporter Pack offers additional cosmetic content, visual items that do not affect play, for players who want to support Bulkhead.
