FX comedy Adults has lifted its streaming audience in season two, with early viewing up 40 per cent on season one.

The eight-episode second season premiered on Aug. 27 on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ in other markets. In the 12 days after that streaming debut, viewing rose 40 per cent compared with the same 12-day window for season one in May and June 2025, according to Disney's internal streaming data, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The jump is sharpest overseas. Viewing outside the United States doubled compared with season one, with international viewing counted on Disney+.

Adults has used a split release pattern across both seasons. New seasons arrive as a binge release, meaning all episodes drop at once for streaming on Hulu, while rolling out two episodes per week on cable. Season one aired on FX. Season two moved to FXX.

Season two followed a prequel episode titled "Marathon Day", which premiered on July 31. The main season then launched in late August across streaming and cable.

The series was created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, who serve as showrunners, meaning they lead the writing and day-to-day production. It comes from FX Productions.

It stars Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao and Owen Thiele as five friends sharing a house in Queens, New York.

For fans, this means more eyes are finding the housemate story the second time around. Season two also posted strong review-aggregator numbers in late August, holding a 100 per cent critic score and a 98 per cent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, as reported by Forbes. That report put its combined critic and audience total ahead of any other show in 2026 at that point.
