Taylor Swift was back in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, Sept. 14, for her first Kansas City Chiefs game since marrying tight end Travis Kelce.

The Chiefs opened their 2026 season against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football and won 21-7, according to the official Kansas City Chiefs schedule. The game kicked off at 8:15 p.m. ET at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., and was televised on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2, the NFL said.

Swift watched from a suite while cheering on Kelce, and spent much of the evening talking with fellow guest Tom Cruise. People reported the pair chatted as they followed the game together.

It was a familiar scene with a new detail. This was Swift's first game appearance since the wedding, Rolling Stone reported. Cruise was also a wedding guest in July, which helps explain the easy conversation.

Swift got loud in the fourth quarter. After running back Isiah Pacheco scored on a 4-yard touchdown run, she was heard chanting “Pacheco!” from the suite, in a clip shared by the NFL.

The appearance also meant Swift skipped television’s awards week. She missed the Emmys to attend the opener, with reports noting she and Kelce had spent time in New York City around the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys on Sept. 7.

The wedding itself is still shaping how these outings are read. Swift and Kelce were married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, in an event organised for nearly 1,000 guests. The guest list included Paul McCartney, Brad Pitt, Conan O’Brien, Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham and Zoe Kravitz.

McCartney and Stevie Nicks performed, and Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Guests did not learn the venue until hours beforehand, People reported in July.

A day before the festivities, the couple donated $26 million across 20 U.S. charities.

For fans, this means a routine is resuming with one change of title. Kelce has started his first Chiefs season since marrying Swift, and Swift has reclaimed her usual seat for it.
