Swift calls Kelce 'my husband' after first touchdown of NFL season

Taylor Swift held up her left hand, pointed to her ring finger and shouted “That’s my husband” after Travis Kelce scored for the Kansas City Chiefs on 20 September.

The moment came in the opening quarter of Kansas City’s home game against the Indianapolis Colts. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes found Kelce with a 13-yard pass for a touchdown, Kelce’s first of the 2026 season, according to the Chiefs’ game coverage Kansas City Chiefs.

Swift was in the stands for the Sunday matchup, Week 2 of the NFL season. Cameras caught her celebration straight after the score. She did not miss.

Kansas City went on to beat Indianapolis 30-14 Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce finished with 101 receiving yards, the total distance gained on his catches, in what became one of his busiest games of the young season.

That included a 59-yard catch, the longest play of its kind in the game. It moved Kelce to No. 2 on the all-time receiving yards list for tight ends, the pass-catching position he plays for the Chiefs.

Swift has been spotted at all of the Chiefs’ games so far this season, Rolling Stone reported. The previous week she watched Kansas City’s 31-10 win over the Denver Broncos alongside actor Tom Cruise.

Cruise later told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that Swift spent that game “schooling” him on football. The clip made the rounds before Sunday’s game kicked off.

For fans, this means a familiar routine is back. Swift first attended a Chiefs game in September 2023, sitting next to Kelce’s mother Donna Kelce Reuters. Three seasons on, her appearances remain a regular part of the broadcast.
