Noah Wyle won best actor in a drama series at the 2026 Emmy Awards for the second consecutive year. The prize for his work on The Pitt was presented by comedian John Mulaney, 44, according to E! News. “This award is for the guys. Just men being men. Finally, something for the fellas,” Mulaney said as he introduced the category, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Wyle beat four other nominees to take the trophy. The shortlist was Gary Oldman for Slow Horses, Sterling K. Brown for Paradise, Rufus Sewell for The Diplomat and Mark Ruffalo for Task. Lead actor in a drama is the Emmys’ top acting award for men in hour-long series. Mulaney called it “the best part of the night,” according to Mashable.
He built his time on stage around a joke about masculinity. He read aloud a passage from A Guy’s Guide to Being a Man’s Man, the 2006 book by actor Frank Vincent.
