Celeste Parr, Punctuation Media Sign With CAA as Slate Builds
Canadian writer Celeste Parr and her Toronto company Punctuation Media have signed with CAA for representation, Variety reported on 15 September 2026. CAA, the Creative Artists Agency, is one of Hollywood's largest talent agencies, finding work and negotiating deals for writers, directors and actors. The agreement covers both Parr herself and the company.
Parr is a Canadian showrunner and writer, as Deadline has described her. She wrote and ran the third season of CBC's Plan B, with the showrunner acting as the writer in day-to-day charge of a series. That season earned a 2026 Canadian Screen Award nomination for best drama series, Canada's leading film and television honours. It is a strong calling card.
She co-founded Punctuation Media in 2024 with Oliver Kane. The Toronto-based organisation develops and produces scripted programmes. It holds a first-look deal with Bell Media and Blink49 Studios, an arrangement that gives those buyers the first chance to pick up its new projects, Variety reported.
One of those projects is already in motion. Parr created Prejudice, an upcoming legal drama starring Emily VanCamp. It is produced by Neshama Entertainment for Bell Media and Fox Entertainment.
The company's own slate starts with We Never Happened, a romantic thriller. It is the first scripted series developed under the Punctuation Media banner. The diary is filling fast.
Then comes film. Ethel, Parr's second feature film, is set for production in 2027. In the story, Shira Haas plays Ethel Stark, the first conductor to lead the Montreal Women's Symphony Orchestra. Sarah Paulson stars as socialite Madge Bowen.
Parr will continue to be represented in Canada by The Characters Talent Agency alongside the CAA signing.
What makes this stand out for viewers is the breadth. Television drama, a thriller series and a historical feature are all moving forward from one small Toronto team, and a major agency is now attached to sell them.
