Lisa Ling has signed with CAA, the talent agency, to represent her across a range of fields. Variety reported the signing on 26 October 2026.

A talent agency finds work for its clients, then negotiates the terms when an offer comes in. Signing with one means a performer's next jobs, on screen or off, can be handled by that agency.

Ling is best known to many viewers as a television host and journalist. She hosted National Geographic's Explorer and CNN's This Is Life, and she spent eight years at CNN. Before that, she co-hosted ABC's daytime talk show The View from 1999 to 2002.

Her work also includes factual television made under her own company. She hosted and executive-produced Our America for the Oprah Winfrey Network. An executive producer oversees a show's making and its budget, without necessarily running the day-to-day shoot.

In 2019 she signed an overall deal with HBO Max, the streaming service. An overall deal is a contract under which a company pays a creator to develop several projects for it over a set period. Earlier, she had a production deal with HBO, which led to the series Take Out.

Her more recent roles include working as a contributor at CBS News, the news division of the broadcaster CBS. She also founded MightyLings, a digital platform focused on wellness and on building strength across generations. In 2020 she hosted The Road to a Vaccine, an eight-part video series backed by Johnson & Johnson, the healthcare company.

For viewers, the news is a change in who helps shape her next move, not a new show on the schedule. Ling has moved between news, documentary and entertainment formats for more than two decades, and the agency now sits alongside that work. Any new project would still need a network, streamer or other buyer to commission it before it reached a screen.
