The Gentlemen is back on top. Season 2 of the Netflix crime drama took No. 1 on the platform's English-language global TV chart with 9.9 million views in the week of 7 to 15 September, Variety reported.

That is a 48% jump on its opening. The eight-part second season premiered on 3 September and drew 6.7 million views in its first three days. It ranked No. 3 on the same global chart that week.

The opening was softer than last time. Season 1 earned 12.2 million views in three days when it launched in March 2024. Season 2 started about 45% below that mark, then built its audience in week two.

Old episodes are riding the wave too. Season 1 returned to No. 3 on the English-language global TV chart with more than 8 million views between 7 and 15 September. Combined, the two seasons drew almost 18 million views in that week.

The numbers land after Netflix had already committed to more. The streamer renewed The Gentlemen for Season 3 before Season 2 had launched.

The story picks up one year after Eddie and Susie joined forces, according to Netflix's Tudum site. Theo James returns as Eddie and Kaya Scodelario returns as Susie, with Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones also in the cast, Netflix Tudum reports. Guy Ritchie directed the new season.

For fans, this means there is no waiting on a renewal decision. The crew has a third season secured, and the audience is growing as new viewers catch up with Season 1 first.

Casting for that third run is still unconfirmed. Deadline reported in August that Meghan Markle remained in talks for a role in Season 3. Netflix has not confirmed any new casting.
