Travis Scott, Keith Richards and Future tease involvement in GTA 6
Travis Scott, Keith Richards, Future and six other acts have hinted they will be involved in Grand Theft Auto 6.
The musicians each posted official artwork from the game on social media. The posts surfaced ahead of the game's planned release on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as reported by Video Games Chronicle.
Scott posted an image of an exotic dancer's feet wrapped around a pole, with a caption referencing Rockstar Games. Future teased his involvement through his label Freebandz's Instagram page, sharing an image of a car with a Leonida licence plate.
Richards posted an image of an iguana with no comment. Wallen posted an image of a swimming pool, also without comment. Rauw Alejandro shared an image of an inflatable flamingo with a message referencing Rockstar Games and 'MACACOA 2000'.
Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso, Pink Pantheress and Fred Again all posted the same illustration of a yacht. That brings the full list of names teasing an appearance to nine artists.
It is not yet clear what the posts mean. They could point to licensed songs on the soundtrack, or to a larger part such as hosting an in-game radio station or appearing as a character, according to Video Games Chronicle. Vice had earlier described Scott, Wallen, Future, Pink Pantheress and Richards as radio artists, in a report published on September 15.
The 'MACACOA 2000' phrase in Alejandro's post may suggest the name of a radio station. That has not been confirmed. In Grand Theft Auto games, radio stations are the in-game channels players hear while driving, mixing licensed music with fictional hosts and adverts.
What makes this stand out is the range. A country star, a Rolling Stone, rap headliners and electronic and Latin pop acts are all signalling at once. For fans, this means the first clues to a soundtrack that is usually kept quiet until close to launch.
