Ozzy Osbourne farewell concert film heads to cinemas on Oct. 28

Ozzy Osbourne's final concert is coming to cinemas from Oct. 28.

Tickets for the screenings go on sale at 10 a.m. ET on Sept. 24, according to details reported by Rolling Stone.

The film captures Back to the Beginning, the all-day concert held at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham, England, on July 5 last year. Osbourne headlined the night less than three weeks before his death, playing a solo set and then a set with the original Black Sabbath line-up.

He closed the night himself. That closing performance included a solo set followed by four songs with Black Sabbath.

The bill around him was large. Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, Halestorm and Yungblud all performed, with Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine serving as music director, the person who oversees the musical shape of the show.

For fans, this means a chance to see that farewell in a cinema. The presentation is mixed for Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound, two cinema sound systems that place music around the audience rather than only from the screen.

The cinema version is titled Back to the Beginning: Ozzy's Final Bow, as reported by The Music. Ben Wainwright-Pearce directed the concert film. Tim van Someren, who directed the live footage streamed during the concert itself, is also credited for that live coverage.

Villa Park was chosen for a reason. Birmingham is the city where Osbourne and Black Sabbath formed, and the July concert was billed as Osbourne's final live performance.
