Boox Note Air 6C Adds Speed and Android 16 to Its 10.3-Inch Color E Ink Tablet

The headline change is processing headroom. The Note Air 6C uses an upgraded octa-core CPU, a chip with eight cores, running up to 2.9GHz. Boox puts that at a 45 percent increase over the Note Air 5C. The company claims a 40 percent improvement in PDF page-turning speed. The screen size is unchanged.
Boox also points to an updated refresh mode, the system that controls how the E Ink screen redraws, meant to make scrolling, web browsing and apps with dynamic content feel more fluid. For E Ink hardware, refresh behavior matters as much as raw clock speed. It determines whether timelines, web pages and annotation-heavy PDFs feel usable or feel like a slideshow. That tuning will decide how far the new silicon goes in daily use.
Display density remains split by content type, as is standard for color ePaper. PPI means pixels per inch, a measure of sharpness. Black-and-white content renders at 300 PPI. Color content renders at 150 PPI. The panel has an adjustable front light for low-light reading and markup. Audio and capture hardware includes dual speakers and a four-microphone array for voice recordings.
Input and device security follow the Note Air formula. The tablet ships with the Pen3 stylus, which requires no charging or pairing. The power button includes a fingerprint sensor. Memory is 6GB of RAM, the working memory used while apps run. Storage is 64GB built in, with a microSD slot for additional storage. Storage is expandable.
Software and pricing define the step from the last model. The Note Air 5C runs Android 15 and retails at $530. The Note Air 6C moves to Android 16 while keeping Play Store access, which preserves sideload-free installs for reading, note-taking, cloud storage and task-management apps. A bundle with a keyboard cover is priced at $690, discounted to $657 for the launch period. The Magnetic Keyboard Cover is compatible with both the Note Air6 C and Note Air5 C, and it has a USB-C port for pass-through charging. In my view, that framing fits the specification choices. Faster page turns, a more fluid refresh mode, system-wide Play Store apps, stylus input, voice capture and an optional keyboard cover add up to a low-distraction device for review, markup and long-form reading. It will not replace an LCD tablet for video or high-frame-rate interaction, nor is it intended to. What it enables is sustained document work with less eye strain and less battery anxiety, and the $50 premium over the prior generation buys CPU headroom and a newer Android baseline to keep that workflow current longer.
