South Park returns on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central for season 29, billed as South America. New episodes will air every other Wednesday, with the cable broadcast coming first, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The slot stays fixed.
The long-running animated programme centres on four friends: Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny. It is described by South Park's official site as a Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series. The same site notes the team picked up its sixth Emmy Award just ahead of the new season.
Comedy Central has published dates for the rest of the short run. Episodes are listed for September 30, October 14, October 28, November 11 and November 25 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, according to South Park Studios. That keeps the every-other-Wednesday pattern intact all the way through late November.
Anyone without cable can still watch at the same time. The new season can be streamed live through DirecTV, Philo, Fubo, Sling and Hulu + Live TV. Those are streaming services that carry live television channels over the internet, so a cable box is not required. A login and a subscription are still needed after any trial ends.
For catch-up viewing, each episode lands on Paramount+ the next day, on Thursdays. Animation Magazine reports that next-day access covers viewers in the U.S., Canada and Australia. The routine is straightforward. Wednesday night means Comedy Central, Thursday means Paramount+.
Some of the live services offer a free introduction for newcomers. DirecTV includes a five-day free trial, Fubo includes a five-day free trial and Philo includes a seven-day free trial. Anyone planning to use a trial for the premiere will need to sign up in time for the 10 p.m. start.
