Helldivers 2 and Horizon Forbidden West vanish from Steam in UK
Two Sony games disappeared from sale on Steam in the UK without any announcement.
Helldivers 2 and Horizon Forbidden West vanished from the British version of the PC store. The change was reported on 17 September 2026, Eurogamer.
Shoppers who did not already own the games found they could not buy them. The listings were still visible but greyed out. Anyone who clicked through saw a short notice: 'This item is currently unavailable in your region'.
That wording points to a regional availability problem. It does not say the games have been withdrawn everywhere. It says they cannot currently be sold to customers in that location.
In games retail, that kind of removal is often called a delisting. The word simply means the product cannot currently be purchased. It does not by itself explain why the change happened.
Players who had already bought the games were unaffected in a practical sense. Existing owners remained able to boot and play both titles. Their libraries were intact. The block applied only at the point of sale.
Steam organises its shop by region. Prices, release dates and availability can differ from one country to another. A game can therefore be on sale in one place and unavailable in another.
Both titles are published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. That means Sony controls how and where they are sold. Steam, the PC storefront involved, is operated by Valve. When a game cannot be bought in one country but works elsewhere, the publisher and the store operator usually need to fix it together.
Sony later acknowledged the problem. The company said it was aware of an issue affecting the availability of select titles on Steam in the UK. It said it was working with Valve to address the issue, Eurogamer. It also apologised for the inconvenience.
No cause has been given. No return date has been announced. The company has not said whether other games are affected.
For fans, this means waiting. Anyone in the UK who already owns Helldivers 2 or Horizon Forbidden West can keep playing as normal. Anyone hoping to buy them for the first time on Steam will need to wait until the listings return. The next step sits with Sony and Valve.
