Crazy Taxi showed gameplay on a new Japanese map, Gachiakuta returned with a new look and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 featured as Xbox devoted its Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast to Japanese partners. Misuzu Araki hosted the show, which was presented as offering exclusive content and new gameplay. GameSpot

The broadcast was scheduled for Thursday, 17 September at 7:00 p.m. JST. That is 3:00 a.m. PDT / 6:00 a.m. EDT and 11:00 a.m. UK time. It streamed live on the Tokyo Game Show's official YouTube channel and on Xbox social channels in the United States and Japan. Xbox Wire

Xbox billed the programme as updates from partners and creative teams in Japan, across Asia and around the world. Partners, in industry terms, means outside studios making games for Xbox platforms. The emphasis for this show was firmly on Japan.

The Crazy Taxi segment brought a new trailer with gameplay on a new Japanese map. It is a return for a driving series built around picking up passengers and racing the clock. Gachiakuta, the game connected to the anime and manga series of the same name, received a new look during the same broadcast.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 also featured in the broadcast. It is the next entry in the long-running first-person shooter series, where players fight through military campaigns and online multiplayer. Xbox did not position the show as a hardware event. No console news was promised.

On the show floor, the public play area where attendees try upcoming games, Microsoft confirmed two titles for its booth. Minecraft Dungeons 2, a spin-off from the block-building Minecraft universe focused on dungeon crawling with friends, was listed for the floor. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was also confirmed as playable there.

Xbox FanFest organised a watch party around the broadcast. The listed special guests were Misuzu Araki and Larry Hyrb. FanFest is Xbox's supporter programme, which hosts viewing events alongside major showcases.

For fans, this means a short and focused update. Fresh footage. Partner games. And two playable builds in Tokyo for those attending in person.
