HBO and Sky Release Full Trailer for Divorce Drama War
HBO and Sky have released the full trailer for War, an eight-part legal drama starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller. The series premieres on October 1 on HBO and October 2 on Sky, Deadline reported.
West plays Morgan Henderson, a tech entrepreneur. Miller plays Carla Duval, a film star. Their acrimonious divorce split sits at the centre of the story. The split is messy.
Archie Renaux co-stars as Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, a young lawyer drawn into the case. The eight episodes, meaning eight instalments telling one closed story, track the legal fight as both sides refuse to give ground.
The series was created, written and executive-produced by George Kay. Ben Taylor serves as lead director, meaning he directs the opening episodes and sets the look for the rest, while Laurie Borg is series producer, overseeing the shoot day to day.
It is produced by New Pictures and Observatory Pictures. New Pictures is owned by Banijay, the international production group behind a large catalogue of scripted and unscripted shows.
In the UK, War is billed as a Sky Original drama, meaning Sky commissioned it for its own channels and streaming service. Elsewhere, the rollout is wide. It will stream on HBO Max in the United States, Australia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, France and Belgium.
That plan follows two earlier teasers. Sky’s “WAR | Official Teaser” pointed to an October 2 launch in the UK, while HBO Max’s teaser pointed to an October 1 launch and carried the tagline “Forever ends here.”
A second run is already secured. Season two has been greenlit, meaning formally ordered, and is in production, according to the same report. It will not continue the divorce.
Instead, season two moves to a defamation case storyline with a new central cast. Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald and David Harewood will star.
For viewers, this means a complete divorce battle in season one, with a fresh dispute already filming. Eight episodes land first. More courtroom drama follows.
