Taylor Frankie Paul is stepping away from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the Hulu series that made her a reality star.

Paul shared the news in an Instagram post on Monday, 21 September, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Season 6 was in active production at the time. Hulu has already ordered a seventh season, meaning the show will continue without one of its central figures.

It is the second exit in quick succession. Co-star Mikayla Matthews announced she would leave about a week earlier, on 14 September.

Paul's departure follows a difficult stretch on and off screen. Production on the series was paused following an alleged domestic incident involving Paul and Dakota Mortensen, her former partner. No further details of that incident have been confirmed in the latest report.

The pause came after ABC pulled Paul's Season 22 of The Bachelorette, the network dating competition, just days before its release. That decision followed the circulation of a 2023 video showing Paul throwing barstools at Mortensen, an incident that led to her arrest.

For fans, this means a sharp turn. As recently as early September, Paul had been expected to return for Season 6. Season 5, which arrived on 10 September, builds toward the pulled Bachelorette season in its trailer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

That axed Bachelorette run still shapes the story around her. Paul got engaged during the unaired season, then later reconnected with Mortensen after filming ended.

Paul has not given a return date or outlined what comes next. Filming on Season 6 was under way when she posted her statement, leaving producers with a series in motion and two cast departures to address.
