Daredevil: Born Again to End With Season 3 in 2027
Daredevil: Born Again will finish after three seasons, with its third and final run due on Disney+ in 2027.
The decision was reported on 21 September 2026, about two months after Season 3 wrapped filming, according to The Hollywood Reporter. That timing gives the team a long post-production window before the farewell season arrives.
There is also a change at the top. Marvel parted ways with showrunner Dario Scardapane, the person who leads day-to-day creative decisions, after his contract expired and was not renewed. He is leaving during post-production, the editing and effects stage after filming, with that work described as in its final stages.
The story has a clear launch point for the ending. Season 2 ran in the spring and closed with Matt Murdock, Daredevil, sent to prison. Marvel’s synopsis for Season 3 says Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down Kingpin, with the season streaming exclusively on Disney+, per Marvel.
The series has already had one major rebuild. It was greenlit in July 2022 for an 18-episode season with Matt Corman and Chris Ord as head writers. Production then stopped during the 2023 labour stoppages, and Marvel ordered a creative reset. Corman and Ord departed, Scardapane came in as showrunner, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead joined as directors and executive producers. The original order was then split into two seasons totalling 17 episodes, nine for Season 1 and eight for Season 2.
Season 3 was officially renewed in September 2025, according to People. Filming reportedly began in early 2026. Season 2 had premiered on 24 March on Disney+, according to Marvel.
The ending fits into a wider reshaping of Marvel’s television slate. VisionQuest, starring Paul Bettany and described as the final instalment in the WandaVision trilogy, is due to debut in October. Disney+ has reversed its renewal of Wonder Man and will not make a second season. Marvel has also greenlit a spy thriller referred to as Zodiac.
For viewers, this means the prison cliffhanger will lead into a planned final act. The crew gets one more season to close the story.
