Rachel Zegler's Evita Brings London Co-Stars to Broadway

Rachel Zegler is bringing her London co-stars with her to Broadway.

Producers Jamie Lloyd and Michael Harrison announced that Diego Rodriguez and James Olivas will join Zegler in Evita, with Zegler as Eva Perón, Rodriguez as Che and Olivas as Juan Perón, Deadline.

The production starts previews on February 27, 2027, at the Winter Garden Theatre. Previews are the first performances with a paying audience before the reviews count. The official opening is set for March 25, 2027.

Rodriguez, whose full name is Diego Andres Rodriguez, is an Olivier Award nominee. The Olivier Awards are London theater's top honors. He played Che opposite Zegler in London and will continue in the role in New York.

Olivas will make his Broadway debut in the production. A Broadway debut means a performer's first appearance on Broadway. He will play Juan Perón, the Argentine president and husband of Eva Perón.

Two more London company members are also making the transfer. Bella Brown will play The Mistress and will play Eva Perón at certain performances. That kind of split assignment covers scheduled absences and keeps eight shows a week covered. Ángel Lozada will play Agustín Magaldi.

The Broadway run is Jamie Lloyd's revival of the musical, which played in London with Zegler before the transfer. On Broadway, the show is produced by Lloyd for The Jamie Lloyd Company and Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals by arrangement with LW Entertainment.
