Drake pulled back the curtain on his Fear of Missing Out short film on Sept. 22, sharing a set of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram under his champagnepapi handle.

He captioned the photo dump, “Weird hill to die on but at least you’re gone.” The line twists a lyric from an unreleased track heard in the film that fans have tentatively titled “Free,” Billboard reported.

The photos cover a lot of ground. They show Drake with Pinkchyu, dressed in an Iron Man suit, and riding the Leviathan roller coaster. The caption did the talking. No extra explanation came with the post.

FOMO itself is a packed short film. It features collaborations with Don Toliver, PartyNextDoor and Yeat, and includes visuals for the tracks HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR.

The closing credits carry the biggest tease. That is where the tentatively titled “Free” plays, reusing Drake’s “I just wanna be free” chorus from “Make Them Pay” from ICEMAN. In the unreleased song, he raps, “Funny, y’all gon’ die up on this hill,” without identifying who he means.

The comments moved fast. Rapper Reese LaFlare wrote “RAZORS EDGE,” comparing Drake’s new look to ’90s wrestler Razor Ramon, a long-time favourite reference point for wrestling fans.

For fans, this means two things to track. There are the pictures, which fill in how the shoot came together. Then there is the wording, which points straight back to unheard music still sitting inside the film’s credits.
