The Prince and Princess of Wales joined Tom Cruise on the red carpet for the world premiere of Digger at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square, London, on September 22. William and Kate attended in support of the Film and TV Charity, which provides mental health and financial support for people working in British film and television. Digger is Cruise's latest film. Kate led the style stakes in a purple Jenny Packham gown. The dress had flared sleeves and a V-shaped neckline, cut for a full red-carpet moment. She wore it with the Queen Mother's Amethyst Sautoir necklace and pearl-drop earrings. David Beckham, Romeo Beckham and Cruz Beckham matched the dress code in black tuxedos. Hello! Magazine

The warmest moment came with the Beckhams. Kate gave Romeo and Cruz a friendly thumbs-up as they chatted on the carpet. Then William and Kate posed for a group photo with David, Romeo and Cruz. Straight after the picture, William pointed to his watch. It got a laugh.

Cruise stayed close to the royal couple all evening. The Prince and Princess of Wales walked the carpet with him, stopping for photos and introductions. At one point Cruise held Kate's hand and guided her down a flight of steps inside the venue. The Standard

There was another big film name in the line-up. William and Kate met filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu at the premiere. The four — William, Kate, Cruise and Iñárritu — were seen joking and laughing together. It was relaxed. Everyone stayed for the cameras. The Sun

What makes this stand out is the blend. A charity night for behind-the-scenes workers turned into a meeting of royalty, Hollywood and one of Britain's best-known families. Leicester Square does this well. On September 22, it did it again.
