Jamie Foxx will debut his new stand-up special Take Care of Yourself on Hulu on Oct. 7.

Hulu has released a trailer for the hour, a filmed live performance made to stream. He dances. He jokes about getting older. The title is taken from one of those punchlines about age, according to Variety.

Hulu describes the special as Foxx's "most honest, evolved, and unforgettable chapter yet." That is the streamer's own billing. It is not a review. It sets up the tone Hulu wants for the launch, with the trailer leaning into humour about ageing.

The special is Foxx's second stand-up hour since a medical emergency in 2023. That year he suffered a severe brain bleed that led to a stroke. He returned to stand-up with the 2024 Netflix special What Had Happened Was..., in which he declared "I'm back!" and spoke directly to speculation about his health.

Take Care of Yourself is his fifth stand-up special across three decades. It started with Straight From the Foxxhole in 1993. He followed that with I Might Need Security in 2002 and Jamie Foxx Unleashed: Lost, Stolen and Leaked! in 2003. The new Hulu hour extends that run past the 30-year mark.

It will arrive as a Hulu Original, meaning it premieres on Hulu first. Hulu's press schedule places Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself on Oct. 7 in its October 2026 line-up, according to Hulu. It is part of Hularious, the name Hulu uses for its slate of comedy specials. The branding groups the specials together for viewers browsing comedy.

That slate is organised as a full season of humour. It also includes specials from Bill Burr, Chris Distefano, Jim Gaffigan, Zarna Garg, Nikki Glaser, Ilana Glazer, Jessica Kirson, Matteo Lane, Sebastian Maniscalco, Kumail Nanjiani, Hannah Berner, Ralph Barbosa, Atsuko Okatsuka, Frankie Quinones, Andrew Santino and Roy Wood Jr., according to Variety. Each special streams under the same banner but stands alone.

For fans, this means the wait is short and the slot is clear. One night. One stream. A comedian back on stage with new material about ageing and what comes after a very public health scare.
