Jamie Foxx is back with 'Take Care of Yourself,' a new stand-up special streaming Oct. 7 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The date is confirmed in Hulu's October press schedule, which lists the hour as a Hulu Original, and Foxx detailed the project in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Oct. 5. Hulu on Disney+, meaning Hulu titles that stream inside the Disney+ app, will carry it alongside Hulu. A trailer is already listed in Hulu's new-and-upcoming hubs.

The hour centres on getting older and looking after yourself. That focus on ageing and self-care is how Essence described the special in September. Foxx has long worked across stand-up, film, music and television. This time the material stays close to home.

It follows his 2024 Netflix comedy special. That special was taped one year after he suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke, Foxx told The Hollywood Reporter. He has spoken only in stages about that health emergency. The new Hulu hour moves the story forward.

Foxx said the recent Kevin Hart roast changed his edit. He cut some material from 'Take Care of Yourself' after watching the roast reaction. He specifically discussed a joke about George Floyd told by Tony Hinchcliffe during that roast. He did not want his own hour caught up in that kind of fallout.

He also ruled out a stop at Shannon Sharpe's 'Club Shay Shay' podcast. Podcasts put guests under pressure to say something wild to move the algorithm, he said. He would rather let the stage hour do the talking. Short version: no hot clip.

Foxx also shared personal news in the interview. He said he will soon welcome his third child. He gave no further details.

For fans, this means a short wait. The special lands Oct. 7. It will be available to stream on both Hulu outlets from that date.
