Tetris Effect gets mixed-reality rebuild for 2027

Tetris Effect is breaking out of the screen. Enhance has announced Tetris Effect: Mixed Realities, a mixed-reality rebuild of its musical falling-block game, scheduled for release in 2027, Video Games Chronicle reported.
The game is planned for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S, plus the upcoming Meta VR Glasses. It is being developed by Monstars and Resonair and published by Enhance. Enhance listed the announcement on its website on 23 September 2026.
Mixed reality, a setup that blends virtual images with a live view of your room, is central to the design. The game will utilise pass-through, a camera view that shows your surroundings inside the headset, to place playfields and effects in the player's space, according to Gematsu.
Players will have two ways to play. The game will support hand controls and standard controllers. Blocks will fall in your room. Music, colour and vibration will still respond to each move.
The announcement is tied to new hardware. The Meta VR Glasses are scheduled for release in spring 2027 at US$1,299. The device puts lenses in sunglasses-style frames, with processing handled by an attached puck.
Meta already lists Tetris Effect: Mixed Realities on the Quest store. The listing describes it as using the full power of mixed reality to transport players into magical, musical realms. Meta also included the title in its Connect 2026 game announcements for Meta VR Glasses and Quest.
The series has a long tail across headsets. The original Tetris Effect received a PlayStation 5 and PSVR2 release in 2023, UploadVR reported.
What makes this stand out is the shift in setting. Earlier versions put players inside enclosed digital worlds. This version brings the blocks and the show into the room around them.
