Percy Jackson stars to bring Season 3 first look to Lucca

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is heading to Italy for one last preview before its new season launches.

Disney+ will spotlight Season 3 at Lucca Comics and Games Festival, the comics, games and screen celebration in Italy, with its young cast and new footage on the programme, Variety reported.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri will appear together for a dedicated Season 3 panel. They will be joined by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz. The session will include previously unseen footage from the new season. It gives fans in the room the first in-person look ahead of the global release.

Panels like this usually combine a short on-stage chat with a first play of new clips. The Lucca line-up puts the three leads front and centre. No extra episodes or dates beyond the footage have been announced for the event.

Scobell plays Percy Jackson, a teenager who learns he is a demigod, meaning half human and half Greek god. Simhadri plays Grover Underwood, his loyal best friend and satyr protector, part boy and part goat. Jeffries plays Annabeth Chase, daughter of the goddess Athena and the strategist of the trio. The three have led the Disney+ adaptation from the start.

Season 3 adapts The Titan's Curse, the third novel in Rick Riordan's book series. Each season follows one book, so this run moves the quest on to a rescue mission tied to Artemis. Dafne Keen joins the cast as Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Holt McCallany joins as Atlas, the powerful Titan of myth.

In Greek myth, Titans predate the gods and often stand against them. That old rivalry drives much of Percy's world, where mortal life collides with ancient powers. The new casting adds both sides of that divide in one season.

Lucca Comics and Games, organised across the historic centre of Lucca, will run from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1. That puts the panel less than three weeks before launch. Season 3 will premiere on Nov. 20 on Disney+, the streamer confirmed in July, Disney+.

For fans, this means the countdown is short. A festival crowd gets the tease first. Everyone else gets the season soon after.
