Percy Jackson Season 3 Trailer Arrives, Premiere Set for November 20

Disney+ has released the first full-length trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3, and the new season arrives on the streaming service on November 20. The trailer debuted on Monday, November 2, according to Deadline.

The season is based on The Titan's Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan's series, published by Disney Hyperion. The story follows Percy as he sets out to rescue Annabeth Chase, who has been captured. Disney+ promoted the season with the line "Find Annabeth. Stop the Titans."

In the trailer, Annabeth is taken to the Titan Atlas at a stronghold in California. There she is forced to hold up the sky. Holt McCallany plays Atlas in a recurring guest role. Talos, the giant bronze automaton from the Junkyard of the Gods, also appears.

The cast list is long, and the trailer offers the first look at several gods. Kate McKinnon plays Aphrodite and Ming-Na Wen plays Hera. Lin-Manuel Miranda plays Hermes, Courtney B. Vance plays Zeus, and Adam Copeland plays Ares. Jennifer Beals joins as Demeter and Hubert Smielecki as Apollo.

The young cast returns too. Levi Chrisopulos plays Nico di Angelo and Olive Abercrombie plays Bianca di Angelo, the children of Hades. Dafne Keen plays Artemis and Saara Chaudry plays Zoe Nightshade. Tamara Smart plays Thalia, daughter of Zeus. David Costabile plays Dr. Thorn, and Jesse L. Martin plays Frederick Chase, Annabeth's mortal father.

The premiere date was first announced in July. Disney+ said at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23 that Season 3 would premiere on November 20. The cast showed a teaser at the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23, Disney's fan event, in August. A separate teaser went up on YouTube on September 3.

Production took place in Vancouver. Disney+ shared a first look from the set in January, a few months before the summer announcements.

For viewers who have followed the show since its first season, the trailer is the clearest sign yet of how the story expands. The season adds new gods and new settings, and it moves the plot toward the Titans. For newcomers, the season opens with Percy's search for Annabeth, so the trailer is a clear entry point.

The premiere on November 20 gives viewers about two and a half weeks between the full trailer and the first episode. Disney+ has not said how many episodes the season will run or whether episodes will be released all at once.
