Lady A and Boyz II Men team up for The Chosen music project
Lady A and Boyz II Men have recorded together. Their collaboration, "I Love The One," arrives on Sept. 25.
The track forms part of a multi-artist music project inspired by the television series The Chosen. Details of the release were reported by Billboard.
The collection is titled The Chosen – Inspired By (Seasons 1-5). It is scheduled for release on Oct. 30. It was created by 5&2 Studios and Capitol Christian Music Group.
Two songs from the project are already out. Tyler Hubbard has released a rendition of "All I Need Is You." Jamie MacDonald has released "Roots."
The wider line-up draws from country and Christian music. It includes Phil Wickham, Anne Wilson, Lost & Found, Franni Cash, Blessing Offor, Steven Stanley and Madison Ryann Ward.
The Chosen is a historical drama based on the life and ministry of Jesus. It is set against Roman oppression in first-century Israel. Jonathan Roumie portrays Jesus Christ, and Dallas Jenkins is the creator, director and co-writer, according to The Chosen.
The show is planned to run for seven seasons. Season six is set to premiere on Prime Video on Nov. 15 with the first three episodes.
For fans, this means new music lands just before new episodes. The album arrives two weeks ahead of the season six opening.
All episodes are available to watch for free in The Chosen app. The app is available for Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, iOS and Android. It also carries Bible Roundtables, featuring a Messianic Jewish rabbi, a Catholic priest and an Evangelical professor, alongside The Chosen Aftershow, in which cast, writers and the director break down episodes.
