AJ McLean releases solo single 'Into Your Heart' ahead of November album

Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean released his solo single 'Into Your Heart' on Sept. 16. The song is taken from his second solo album, 'Sex, Love & Music', which is scheduled for release on Nov. 27, as reported by Billboard. As a solo act he performs under his full name, Alexander James McLean.

McLean is best known as a member of the Backstreet Boys. His solo work uses his full name to mark it out from the group. That distinction runs across streaming profiles, video credits and live billing.

The release arrived with visuals. An official 4K music video for 'Into Your Heart' is available on YouTube under the Alexander James name. The video is already live. His channel, branded Alexander James, hosts uploads titled 'AJ McLean - Into Your Heart' and 'AJ McLean - Into Your Heart (Clean)', with the clean version offering an edit without explicit language.

McLean shares a directing credit on the clip with Rene Elizondo Jr., who is listed as director and producer. McLean said he wanted the song to be a love letter to dance. He spoke about dancers and choreography when teasing the track on social media earlier in September.

'Sex, Love & Music' follows his debut solo LP, 'My Name is Alexander James'. An LP is a full-length album. The new record was confirmed as the parent release for 'Into Your Heart' by BroadwayWorld. McLean also released the 'Hi My Name is Alex' EP in November 2025, an EP being a shorter record with a handful of tracks.

The road comes next. His first North American solo tour, The Better Man outing, is slated to open on Oct. 19 at Brooklyn Bowl in New York. It is scheduled to run through Jan. 15 at the Craterian Theater in Medford, Ore. The run is organised as his first solo tour of North America under his own billing.

McLean had pointed fans to Sept. 15 in early teasers, sharing a pre-save link for the single. A pre-save lets listeners add an unreleased track to their library in advance on streaming services. The finished release landed on Sept. 16.

For fans, this means a packed few months. One single now, with its dance-led video to watch. Then live dates across North America from October. Then the full album in late November.
