Rockstar's US$399.99 GTA VI box has no game inside

Rockstar Games has opened pre-orders for a Grand Theft Auto VI collector's box that does not include the game.
The Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is a merchandise bundle, a box of themed goods sold separately from the game itself. It is available to pre-order now while supplies last and arrives on 19 November, according to Rockstar. The publisher lists it at US$399.99 in the US, £349.99 in the UK and €399.99 in Europe. That price buys a large box. No disc. No download code. The listing states plainly that no copy of Grand Theft Auto VI is included.
Rockstar describes the set as a premium Collector's Box featuring all the essentials for a good time. It is inspired by Macca the Gator, a fictional hit television show from Leonida, the in-game state where the story is set. Rockstar Store
The box leans on two outside brands. It includes matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTAVI logo, plus a New Era 9FORTY snapback hat with Vice City Leonida details. There is also a Leonida Keys crossbody bag made from ripstop fabric with black and pink lining.
Other pieces stay closer to the fiction. Buyers get a Macca the Gator figure with a twist-open base, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass with a laser-etched Rockstar Games logo on the bottom, a nine-pin enamel set in a metal tin, and nine vinyl stickers packed in a stash bag.
Then come the curiosities. The set includes a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror, a Vice City razor blade keychain, a Vice City collectible swizzle spoon for stirring drinks, and a double-sided souvenir poster with a map of Leonida. Eurogamer
There are practical limits. The box measures 19 in x 13.5 in x 12.5 in and is not eligible for free shipping on the Rockstar Store. It contains small parts and sharp points, carries a choking hazard warning, is not for children under 3, and is labelled as adult collectibles for ages 18 and over.
For fans, this means a choice. The November date puts the merchandise alongside the wider run-up to launch, but anyone wanting the game itself will still need to buy that separately.
