Rockstar launches GTA VI merch led by Macca the Gator

Rockstar Games is selling official Grand Theft Auto VI clothing and gifts six weeks before the game itself arrives. The Grand Theft Auto VI Collection is now available in the Rockstar Store, according to a Newswire post published on 8 October Rockstar Games. The game launches on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S GameSpot.
The breakout star is Macca the Gator. The alligator wears sunglasses and holds a cocktail on a white T-shirt printed with the word Vice. Macca is the star of a fictional television show inside the game, billed as Leonida's hit TV show. Leonida is the fictional state where Grand Theft Auto VI is set.
The main range sticks to wardrobe staples. T-shirts featuring the GTA VI logo sit alongside the Macca design. The White Grand Theft Auto VI Macca the Gator Tee is listed as New for €29.99. Goodtime State Tees in pink, blue and black cost €29.99, alongside baseball caps in Blue and Pink, Pink and Blue, and Black and Pink colourways for €29.99. Canvas totes in Blue and Pink and Pink and Blue are €39.99.
Smaller items fill out the shelves. The line includes a Grand Theft Auto VI Vice City Zippo lighter for €39.99, a Vice City money clip for €24.99 and a keychain for €14.99. Vinyl stickers come as a Grand Theft Auto VI and Rockstar Games Sticker Collection for €9.99 and a holographic set for €4.99. The store also lists Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album in Exclusive CD, Exclusive Vinyl, Standard CD and Standard Vinyl versions.
The priciest item is separate. The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is listed as COMING SOON for €399.99. Rockstar describes it as a premium Collector's Box with essentials for a good time. It is due on 19 November and includes a 6-inch Macca the Gator figure with a stash compartment, matte black GTA VI Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback hat, a Macca magnetic mirror and a Vice City swizzle spoon.
Rockstar has also teamed with the NBA's Miami Heat for a Vice City Collection. That range runs to 14 items and is available through the Miami Heat Store Vice.
What makes this stand out is the focus on in-world branding. Fans are not only buying the game logo. They can wear merchandise for a cartoon alligator that exists as a TV star inside Leonida itself.
