Prada Group, the Italian luxury group behind Prada and Miu Miu, has taken its ocean-education work to the heart of the United Nations in New York.

UNESCO, the United Nations agency for education, science and culture, unveiled the ONE OCEAN installation during the High-level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly WWD. The structure stands at the United Nations Headquarters Visitors' Plaza in New York. It stays up for two weeks.

The installation was created in partnership with SEA BEYOND UNESCO. SEA BEYOND is Prada Group's project to raise awareness of ocean preservation. It has been run with UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, the agency's ocean-science body, since 2019.

The New York display is built around UNESCO's motto "Learn. Think. Act." It features a selection of initiatives supported by Sea Beyond. Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada Group's head of sustainability, has led the company's side of the partnership.

SEA BEYOND works mainly with young people and schools. Its aim is plain: explain why the ocean matters and what harms it, from pollution and overuse to climate pressure. The New York installation translates that classroom work into a public stop for diplomats, staff and visitors.

The project has a base in Venice. Prada Group opened its SEA BEYOND Ocean Literacy Centre there, a space for teaching and public events about the sea Prada Group. The centre works alongside One Ocean Hub, a research programme focused on ocean sustainability and conservation. Prada Group continued to add SEA BEYOND school and outreach updates through this year, including a news post dated June 9, 2026.

The ONE OCEAN name has appeared before. A short film called One Ocean was presented at the 75th Venice International Film Festival as part of the early Sea Beyond activity.

What makes this stand out is the setting. Fashion projects often stay inside a shop, gallery or film festival. This one sits inside a diplomatic week, where passers-by include heads of state and school groups on the same plaza.
